I've been dabbling in our Boeing family ancestry research since 2007, and while I have not been able to find a link to William E. Boeing (the founder of The Boeing Company), I have discovered ancestors that left Prussia for a better life in the United States. Some arrived prior to the Civil War, and many others lived during WWI, the Great Depression, and WWII. My maternal grandfather Bernard Henry Boeing and his brother Herman lived for 7 years (September 10, 1895 to June 1, 1902) at Mount Alverno Protectory for Boys. Their father Herman Boeing had Parkinson's disease and could not work, and their mother Anna Haverkamp Boeing was unable to care for them at home. She worked as a domestic, cooking for a High German family. Everything that my ancestors endured has made my good life possible, and for that I am forever grateful.
